Xanga friends! I have been so terrible about posting.
So how have you been? Here, have a seat. We have iced tea, Diet Coke, water, Vitamin Water, Sunny D, Pina Colada wine coolers, or non-fat milk. What'll you have?
Life has been mostly great; of course, I live in the knowledge that my brother loaned to me: "EVERY day is a good day." Even the bad ones, because the option is being done here, and I am not done here. I'm not at all afraid to die (though there are methods of dying I would prefer not to experience), but losing my friend Brenda and my mother-in-law this year reminded me that I would like to be around long enough to at the very least see all of the kids get through college. Since I started so late with having my babies and had the last one at such an "advanced maternal age" (the phrase my OB/GYN office used repeatedly), I need to get healthier so I can stick around long enough to see him grown and paying off his student loans. With that in mind, Celine and I have started taking walks, and it's been nice to have her to myself for a few minutes a day. Today Cameron and I played at the park, and played "Follow the Leader". He was the leader, and I had to follow him crawling through plastic tunnels, going down the squiggle slide, and jumping from rocks. Now THAT was exercise!
Celine had one of her photos published on an online tourism guide; it's in the area on Moonlight Beach: http://www.schmap.com/sandiego/sights_water/#r=none&mapview=Map&tab=Places&topleft=32.90006,-117.3048&bottomright=32.64718,-117.11185&i=196262_15.jpg
Christian is at band practice (so many hours it's like having a real job).
Cameron is singing "You Can't Always Get What You Want".
Alex is in San Diego with his mom. Recovering from Swine Flu.
I'm sitting here talking to you. What's on your mind?

as someone who is also of 'advanced maternal age' i know just what you're saying.
I thought preservatives were supposed to "preserve" us. Guess I was mistaken- heehee Now we have to do that "eat right, exercise" thing. sigh Oh, yes... thankful for every day. Band is a full time, fun job! Go Christian!! Celine's picture is beautiful. How do you save that for a scrapbook/portfolio? I wish I could hear Cameron sing :) Glad you are all well. Still praying for Alex. Hello to your hubby. oxox
I'll have iced tea, no sugar.
It's good to appreciate the little things and you are a GREAT mom, very present in every moment of their lives. I was relatively young(ish) when I had my kids (at ages 29 and 33), but I definitely have "advanced maternal age" now ;) Sometimes I feel so tired and worn out and OVER IT, and set in my ways, and then I have to remember that their little lives are just beginning and that I need to perk up and be ready to share the next big adventure with them! We have to not only be healthy for them, but have some energy, too! So better make that iced tea a coffee... black.
If you were at "advanced maternal age" then I must have been at "ancient maternal age" when I had Alisa!! Glad to see an update; tell Celine she did a great job!
Hi there, I'd like a wine cooler please. But it will take me a looong time to drink it without getting drunk. :P What a cool opportunity for Celine, love it!! :D We are currently in our busy-holiday season already (with family bdays this pretty much starts in Sept and goes through New years!). We had Liam's party last night, he turns 4, FOUR!??!?!!!!! on Tues, and I am helping plan a baby shower for a friend for next weekend. Making gifts for ppl. Bumming that my back is still broken. That's pretty much it at the moment, thanks for asking. :)
Congrats to Celine! Way to go!
I'll have a Vitamin Water, please! Missed you!
@Mercymex3 - Thanks for the prayers for Alex. he got the MD go-ahead to go back to school today- he's less than thrilled about that part of getting better, LOL...
@DrTiff - Coming from a mom I respect (you do so much with your kids!), your compliment means a lot- thank you. Thanks also for the reminder that their lives are still new and they need us to be excited for them and present with them. So true. :) Love ya. Lisa
Pina colada wine coolers?? Are they good?
@transvestite_rabbit - Good enough! Kinda too sweet, but okay.
Ooh - Diet Coke, although I'd like to wean myself off the stuff...
In terms of getting healthier, we're thinking of getting bicycles, although I wonder how much we'd actually end up riding them...
Life is lovely sometimes, isn't it?
