    Want to remember being young?

Go to a high school football game. :)

I've gone to a few this year (as my oldest boy is in Regiment- the marching band). The team this year is superb, and so is the marching band. The kids, they are so young and full of motion and hope that it makes you breathe deeper, just thinking about it. Oh, the things I wish I had known at 16!

If you could go back in time, what would you (now) tell the 16 year old you (then)?

  • You're not going to BELIEVE how much better life is when you're an adult.  It's sooooooooo much better, you're not going to BELIEVE it.

  • I have to think about that daily, as Child the Eldest is 15. I tell her many things, but a common theme is to enjoy boredom. You never hear an adult complain of it.

  • We did a high school football game last year-- I felt so old!! LOL

I'd probably not waste my breath on my 16 year old self-- I thought I knew it all!  LOL

  • oh man, that is something to think on...i will come back and comment if i think of anything good...:) what about you??

  • I think I would tell myself to not get married in July 1984. I cried in the shower that morning while getting ready; I think on some level, I flat knew I was making a mistake. I ended up spending many, many years in an incredibly abusive relationship. It affected me in so many ways- even in my schooling, just in so many ways. I lost so much.I wish I had listened to my gut. So I would tell the 16 year old me: trust your gut. If something feels wrong, it probably is.
