because He is (for Dr. T's friend)

    Fatherly, Motherly,

But holy- Otherly. I am unable to measure You.

I am unable to fathom You. Questions prickle like sweat

on the back of my knees in summer. There is so much

    I don't understand, so much I don't

define, describe, or know. Those moments when

it's been just You and me; you'd think I would thirst less

    by now. Fatherly, Motherly,

    Otherly, Holy.

    Faithfully,

    You parent me.

  • I'm glad I could inspire you with my snarkiness ;)     Seriously, you know I do not believe in handing things over to an unknown being/force and I believe we can only have faith in ourselves.  I don't think that is a hard way to be - it is not about power or control or not letting other things in.  It is about the constant reaching and growing from within, but still so much to understand and fathom.   So I guess it's not so different, except it's looking within rather than outside of our selves for that understanding.

And football.... oy, don't get me started!   (haha)

  • Actually I loved thinking about the word "faithful"; I love how you make me think! Lisa P.S, Some day I'll have to take you to a football game! C'mon, you can do it. I'll buy you a beer and we can talk Thoreau. Emerson, Your choice. :)
  • Nice - and DrTiff - I think we do both.
